No-Blender-Needed Protein Shake Recipes

Protein shakes. I have one just about every day. For me, it’s the perfect quick and easy post-work out snack, or snack on the go. When I first started getting really dialed into my diet, I was really reluctant to add in protein powder. The only ones I had tried were chalky and gross. I finally  found one that was tolerable that you can buy at most any big box store. It was great for the time, introduced me to protein powder, and I reached many of my goals using it. But then I started to really look into the ingredients and I didn’t like what I found: sucralose, artificial coloring, etc. So I switched to this one. It’s 21 grams of rBHG free whey protein in single serving packets. It’s made with stevia, instead of aspartame or other less desirable sweetener and there aren’t any artificial colors or preservatives. But what about when you don’t have time to bother with the blender?

All the recipes below use one packet of TLS whey protein powder, chocolate or vanilla as indicated, and NO BLENDER! Mix ingredients (to taste) with one packet of protein powder, shake and drink! I usually start with a base of ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 cups water, a handful of ice and go from there.

Creamy Pumpkin Spice:
Milk (almond, coconut, diary or other)
1 tbls canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
Sprinkle Pumpkin pie spice
Water/Ice
Vanilla protein powder

Chocolate Peppermint:
Milk (almond, coconut, diary or other)
Water/Ice
Chocolate Protein Powder
¼ tsp Peppermint Extract (or to taste, start off with just a bit & add more if desired)

Iced Chai Tea Latte:
Milk (almond, coconut, diary or other)
Water/Ice
Unsweetened brewed chai tea or black tea
Vanilla protein powder

Orange Cream:
½ cup Orange juice (or to taste)
Vanilla protein powder
Water/Ice
Protein shake cafe con leche
Iced Café con leche with cinnamon:
Instant coffee to taste
Milk (almond, coconut, diary or other)
Water/Ice
Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
